  • Bacteria. Gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia are examples of STIs that are caused by bacteria.

  • Parasites. Trichomoniasis is an STI caused by a parasite.

  • Viruses. STIs causes by viruses include HPV , genital herpes and HIV .

STD and STI are simply two different terms that donors the same diagnosis or underlying disease processes.

Defining diseases is much harder. Most people would presume a disease to be state of being ill, in away that causes symptoms or physical damage to the body. That would certainly refer to infection as a diseases, but they would also include other conditions like cancer or hypertension, because the nature of a disease is so tricky to define.

STD and pregnancy

The woman can get STD while she is pregnant if she has sex with someone who has an STD. And the woman also get pregnant while she has an STD, and she may pass the infection to her baby. 

It is very important for the pregnant woman to get treatment. If she doesn't get treatment for an STD, it can lead to serious health problem  for her and her baby.
